Dave brings more than 16 years experience in Public Relations, Marketing and Event Marketing including extensive experience working for clients within the health & fitness, consumer products, media, non-profit, golf, tennis and hospitality industries. Dave currently oversees all day to day agency business including a sports marketing division which includes Midtown Athletic Clubs, Stonewall Orchard Golf Club and White Deer Run Golf Club.

Dave’s hospitality PR background includes his serving as lead account representative for Starwood owned and/or managed hotels including a myriad of Chicago area hotels including The Westin Michigan Avenue, The Westin O’Hare, The Westin River North, The Westin Chicago North Shore, as well as other Starwood-managed properties including The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Gateway Suites and Sheraton Elk Grove.

Consumer product experience includes having served as Marketing Director for the STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer Lawn Mower Racing Series and U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association, a client-based and client-created program that ran for 16 years and featured 20 state chapters nationally. Work included the coordination of a nationally televised series of riding lawn mower races. Experience includes working with both local and national media including USA Today, Discovery Channel, ESPN2, Fox Sports Network, Disney Channel, The Nashville Network (TNN) and national ABC, CBS and NBC network television programs.

Prior to joining Merton G. Silbar Public Relations (i.e. SilbarPR), Dave worked for the Chicago Tribune sports Department (1988-1994) and was a member of the Chicagoland Golf Media Writers' Association, reporting on professional golf events that were played in Chicago during that time. Golf coverage and frequent by-line stories for the Tribune included PGA Tour, Senior PGA Tour and LPGA events in Chicago from 1989 through 1994 including the '89 PGA Championship, '90 U.S. Open and '92 U.S. Senior Open.

Extensive background in Non-Profit Public Relations including serving as lead account executive for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Leukemia Research Foundation, Little City Foundation, American Brain Tumor Association, National Kidney Foundation and Les Turner ALS Foundation (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Additional experience includes working in legal-law, non-profit organizations, commercial real estate, amateur and professional sports management and media/publications.

Personal: Having offices in Glenview, IL since 1968, Dave relocated SilbarPR to Libertyville, IL in November of 2010 in order to be in closer proximity to his family which includes a wife and three daughters.
